About Gregg Anston-Race

Gregg Anston-Race

Cornish born and bred, Gregg was born in Truro and grew up in Week St Mary a village close to the North Cornish coastline.

His love of this beautiful county started in childhood where he would walk large areas of Bodmin Moor for hours a day and explore the rugged coastline.

Gregg has run his own glass studio since 2005 and in 2021 moved his studio back to his roots in the picturesque village of Week St Mary in Cornwall.

His work is strongly influenced by the stunning natural beauty which surrounds him; The wild and beautiful landscape of Cornwall, from the soft tones of the misty moors to the vibrant colours and bright clear light of the rugged coastline where waves crash against sharp rocks forming swirls and eddy's that can be seen echoed in some of his work.

Gregg studied Art and Design at St Austell Collage and later took an interest in fused glass where his love for this medium took hold.  Self taught, he loves working with glass, experimenting with it and pushing it to it’s limits which has resulted in techniques which are unique to his work.

His popular ‘flow’ design has been developed through experimentation over a number of months, a technique which allows him to achieve a flowing organic look to his designs.

When he’s not working with glass he can often be found in the middle of a field with a metal detector, drawing or exploring the Cornish beaches, moorland and woodlands with his wife and daughter.

Greg’s work can be found in a number of galleries across the UK from Cornwall to Scotland.

He is always happy to meet clients to create works for private commissions from kitchen splash backs to wall art to bring your ideas to life.
